$100,000 in book sales Joe Konrath – self published author, my thoughts

As I mentioned in my previous posts, I am tired of other bloggers or people who want to dampen self-published authors’ dreams. I am one to ignore that kind of talk and push myself to do what I love to do –write books and make movies. Speaking of dreams, I woke up from a dream the other day with a vivid picture of what my next novel, actually a series of novels are going to be. I spoke to my business partner and friend who at first was very silent when I described my idea for my new book. His silence made me assume that he probably wasn’t too interested in the storyline or genre I was pitching to him. However, I was so wrong. Today he scheduled a meeting with me in which he showed me a storyboard he drafted for a plan to make my book idea into a feature film.

Wow, I didn’t expect that at all. He is so excited with my next book that he will help me draft the screenplay as I write it. For those who are interested, I will share the details of my next book(s) in future posts.

In the meantime, I found this inspiring article by Joe Konrath, a horror novelist who sold over 500.000 ebooks. He describes and proves his Kindle earnings with screenshots that shows he made over $100,000 in Kindle book sales in January 2012.
